ABOUT US

Yamaha Music Education System

The Yamaha courses began in 1954 in Japan under the direction of Mr. Gen’ichi Kawakami.  Mr. Kawakami believed his company was responsible not only for making a quality product, but also for teaching customers how to use the product. Consequently, he established the non-profit Yamaha Music Foundation (YMF) in 1966 for the purpose of developing and promoting music education and music popularization activities internationally. YMF guides the development of the Yamaha Music Education System in 43 countries and also sponsors international events such as the Junior Original Concert (JOC).

Director's Note

I believe that every

child is born with the

innate ability to create

music. By starting their

music education at an early age, children are given not only the skill of playing but the gift of enjoying music to relax, develop, and grow throughout their lives. I started East Valley Yamaha Music School in 1986 and I'm glad to say we've given thousands of children the gift of the joy in music, both for playing and creating.

Community Impact

East Valley Yamaha Music School is committed to serving the community, and our community of music learners. We look for opportunities to bring our students into the spotlight and encourage them to share their talent to inspire others. Through participation at local festivals, visits to preschool and

kindergarten classrooms, and organizing community events, we hope to spread the joy of music far and wide.

If you are interested in having Yamaha students participate at your event or community gathering, contact us with the form below.

Our Teachers

One of the most unique things about the Yamaha method is the quality of our instructors. All Yamaha group teachers must undergo intense training sessions before they begin in the classroom, in addition to yearly projects and regular teacher check-ins with our director. Both private and group teachers also have the highest qualifications- from bachelors, to masters, and doctorates in Music from prestigious universities around the world. Many of our teachers are also active performers in the local community as well as in the national community performing or entering competitions.

But this perhaps is not the most important qualification of the Yamaha teacher. The Yamaha teacher is someone who loves and understands sharing the language of music with children. Our teachers are also trained in classroom management, engagement strategies and homework motivation methods. We cannot wait to start your musical journey with you and your child!

We’d love to hear from you!
