Two EVYMS Students Invited to National Junior Original Concert
Congratulations to Saadhvi Sri Jayaram (age 8) and Luke Hoang (age 15) who were both invited to perform their original compositions at the 2018 National Junior Original Concert. This event will feature 12 young composers chosen from hundreds of applicants across the United States. The concert will take place on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Cerritos Center for Performing Arts in Cerritos, CA.
Saadhvi was invited to perform at the National Junior Original Concert for her original composition, Under the Banyan Tree. She has been learning music at East Valley Yamaha Music School since she was three years old, and composed her first song when she was four years old. She describes her inspiration for this piece coming from several ideas, and says she wanted her piece to be fun and jumpy, with different rhythmic styles.
See Saadhvi perform her piece below at our Local Junior Original Concert earlier this year:
Luke performed last year at two competitive concerts, including the National Junior Original Concert and the 46th International Junior Original Concert in Japan. He has been a student at East Valley Yamaha Music School since he was four years old, and started composing his own songs at age 8. This year, Luke's composition titled Tokyo Suite was inspired by his captivating experience in Japan last year at the International Junior Original Concert.
